Key Responsibilities
As a Traffic Engineer / Transportation Planner, you will:
Prepare transportation studies, including Traffic Impact Studies, Parking Studies, Safety Studies, and Transportation Management Plans.
Apply knowledge of multimodal assessments and solutions, including pedestrian, bicycle, transit, and micromobility infrastructure, to develop balanced transportation strategies.
Develop illustrative drawings, charts, and graphs for reports and presentations.
Conduct fieldwork and analyze transportation data.
Collaborate with clients, public agencies, and multidisciplinary teams to develop effective solutions.
Participate in client and agency meetings.
Stay up to date with local, state, and federal transportation standards and best practices.

Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Planning, Urban Planning, or a related field.
2-10 years of experience in traffic engineering or transportation planning.
Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Experience with GIS or Adobe Illustrator.
Familiarity with traffic analysis tools such as Synchro, VISSIM, and CAD is a bonus.
Knowledge of multimodal transportation planning, including pedestrian, bicycle, transit, and micromobility solutions.
Knowledge of DDOT and MDOT design standards is beneficial.
EIT certification or AICP (or willingness to pursue) is encouraged.
